Have an electric car? Here’s what a Nissan LEAF electric car owner had to say about their stay at SeatacPark.com

Quick note to say Thank You! I recently parked my Nissan LEAF electric car at your facility and shared an overview of my experience on Facebook in the Seattle Nissan LEAF owners group. Here’s the post, cheers!

Quick review of seatacpark.com – We had a weekend trip, so we decided to take the LEAF to the airport (36 miles each way). Per the article, I called in advanced to check the status and reserve a spot. Initially, the young lady answering the phone had no idea about the advertised electrical service, so I gave her the URL. She quickly read it and told me that she needed to check with her supervisor and call me back. Ten minutes later, she called and happily said that she has a spot available and would furnish an extension cord if needed.

I showed up at the scheduled time and told the lot attendant that I was there for one of the reserved electrical spots. Again, the person there had no idea what I was referring to, so he asked and luckily, the same young lady that I spoke to was there. She jumped right out of the booth, directed us to the spot (reserved with a cone) and had an extension cord in her hand!

Car turned off, luggage out, we plugged in to the cord which was plugged into a weather covered GFI 120v 15 amp outlet on the outside of the office building. Shuttle came around and picked us up and we were off to the airport. Within 10 minutes I received a carwings ‘stop charging’ SMS. :( Apparently the GFI was tripped. I called back and and asked if she could reset the GFI, which she was happy to do, then I again connected to carwings and re-started charging. The car successfully charged to 80% per my standard schedule and I received confirmation the next day.

On Sunday, prior to boarding my return flight, I connected and initiated climate control which worked perfectly. Quick uneventful flight, shuttle back to the car where I discovered someone had thoughtfully placed plastic over my EVSE to provide added protection from the rain! They had also place a safety cone around the LEAF :) And to top it all off, they charge the “internet rate” of $10.95/day, juice included!

I would definitely use this service again and am happy to know of businesses like this that are so focused on customer satisfaction!

Cheers,

Mark Spain
